About SHWE
SOCIETY FOR HUMAN WELFARE AND EMPOWERMENT (SHWE) was set up in July 2014 by like-minded professionals who wanted to devote their skills, knowledge and resources for the empowerment of the people, particularly those who are less privileged, in cooperation with various organizations i.e. Non-Governmental, Corporate and Civil Society. SHWE was registered on 23 March, 2015 under Societies Registration Act 1860.
SHWE started working by initiating a project for persons with disabilities by providing them with Prostheses (Artificial Limbs) and other Assistive Devices (Orthosis and Mobility Aids), “Free of Cost”.
SHWE commits itself, in partnership with society/ other organizations, towards working for the upliftment of the underprivileged for their inclusive growth and empowerment so that they can enjoy a quality life and also participate and contribute towards nation-building.
SHWE Programmes
SHWE focuses on early detection and prevention of disability in order to take necessary action within time so that the prevalence or extent of disability could be restricted.
For this purpose, SHWE conceived three major programmes.
Physical Restoration and Rehabilitation Programme for persons with disabilities.
Savinay Nivedan Program for Civil Obedience
Healthy Feet Programme for school-going children in order to assess the necessity of intervention
